Good luck!! I hope your Midwest trip is much more successful than mine was. I'm now back home and gearing up to go into the office this morning.

To make things even more odd he had no nuts pecker but no nuts. Was also a tiny deer for up here body wise only 225 lbs. and 5-6 yo off jawbone should have been close to 300 lbs. nice deer either way. Only picture I have at this time hunting all day....

I have actually heard that if they somehow castrate themselves they won't shed their velvet. Wasn't sure I believed it until now, pretty crazy.

That is true. I worked for a guy that had some in a pen. He had a buck that had castrated himself on a fence and kept a ugly little rack in velvet.

Too hot and humid
.270 in a box stand I built before this season
We've had some record cold weather this month but the only times I've been able to hunt, I'm swatting at wasps cause of the warm weather. Could be worse.

That is 100% true. The nuts sometimes get caught in a fence or something, and if they do, the velvet will stay on. The reason they shed it is because of testosterone developing. What makes the testosterone develop is the lack of sunlight due to shorter days.
