man we had gators in the "canaervon" side of reggio damn near at the end of the season last year. Haven't seen much this year, but they are definitely there. Have to watch b/c of the dogs. Canaervon has much more fresh water than the the other side (meaning other side of the road with hopedale etc.)

I had to race one to take white perch off of my yo-yo's a week ago. Like Wick said, the water temps are still warm.
It takes several days of cold weather to really affect the water temp.

I only make a few marsh hunts a year but the lake we hunt has 3 12'+ gators that have been sighted this season.
Ive heard horror stories from some old timers about dogs getting pulled down. Lately ive had vivid nightmares about my lab getting taken out by a gator.
Freaks me out

My sis saw her neighbor's golden retriever get snatched by a gator in South Carolina. Said it was an awful sight to see. Neighbors were mad because Sis didn't intervene to save the dog.

Old timers didn't use dogs as much as we do now.....and gator attacks on retrievers very rare.....
Feeding and attacking are twomdifferent things
But 62 degrees is the magic number
