Most layouts back then sucked IMO
Either way, those older Pathfinders and Mavericks are solid hulls

Good to know. I'd prefer another 50 hp on a 22' boat.

Not sure why the OB is so obsessed with Pathfinder. The layout on this 99 sucks IMO.
Cause they are badass.

I agree with the others that your looking at a $13k-15k boat depending on hours. I have the 22' blazer bay which is pretty much a copy of that model and it rides great. For reference I paid $13.5 for mine 2 years ago.

He asked the opinion of the boat and I told him the layout sucks.

I had a '01 PF, spider cracks in transom bad! Had Tidwell in Pride repair it and PF reimbursed me. It was an apparent manufacture defect that was widely known.

Where does it say that it's a 1999?

little underpowered
Posted on 6/24/15 at 1:41 pm to Chad504boy
first of all, that's a lot of money for a 16+ year old boat (and motor!).
Secondly, apparently the OB's blind love of pathfinder caused them to glaze right over the fact that it's a 22' boat with a 150hp motor. Typical OB says that's under-powered by at least 100hp.
imo, you can get something WAY BETTER for that amount of money (probably 5-10 years newer and more HP).

But it won't be a pathfinder

Under powered, would not buy

I agree with Pogey. I wouldn't buy that PF unless it was a steal... and it's not. That front deck is far less than ideal.
Based your "around home" comment, the 20' might be better. On the coast, you will wish you had the bigger boat... but if you don't go down there much...
The relatively consistent comments that I've heard from PF owners is "wet" and "not a great ride." Of course, they have their fanboys too.
And I've read fanboy comments from Skeeter owners too.
Do a search on thehulltruth dot com for more comments on both boats.
Enjoy the search!
ETA: Whatever boat you look at it, look over every inch and point out every little crack and blemish. Then offer them 1500-2000 less than their asking, IF and ONLY IF you really want the boat. Every boat has flaws. Find them and know them before you buy.

I agree on the power. I have a buddy with this same setup although different years and he's either a pussy or the hole shot ain't that good.
My advice when buying a used boat/motor/trailer.
1. Make sure the motor is cold and have him hook it up to ear muffs on the trailer. Listen to the start and have him run it 15 minutes. Make sure you get a good start and a constant idle with no spitting or misfires.
2. Shut her down and then have him put in the water. Before you get in check the trailer for corrosion on your cross beams, springs, axle, hubs, brackets that attach cross beams and bunk boards, etc.
3. See how she runs in the water and look for shite banging around or fricking up. Fire up the livewell, bilge pump, trim the bitch, hit the jack plate, lights, and all electronics.
If any errors occur, they are not deal breakers, but just specific negotiating points that they can't dispute with a straight face. Its one thing to say $11,000 as a first offer, but if you can say that along with I think I'm going to need to clean the carbs or injectors, replace the hubs on a double axle trailer, get new springs, etc, then your negotiations will hold substance.
This is coming from someone who bought a 10 yr old used boat/motor 3 years ago and has replaced the hubs on the trailer, springs, a trailer support beam, the bunk boards and their brackets, and had a carb kit on a V6 Vmax. frick you ethanol.

Good advice
The trailer is the only thing i had issues with on my used skeeter.
Broke an axle, replace both axles, leaf springs, brakes, tounge, all bolts and hardware

Jenar you aint fooling anyone.
Dig down in your center console of your 350 and look under the couch cushions. Go buy a brand new rig cash and ride off into the sunset.

You don't like slimers? Good pull, hit on arties, and my bubba blade slices through them like its a crappie. I will even broil them.
My boat's name is the Slimey Slut since I can't keep the gaffers off the bitch.
