Is the fishing pier at the Bonnabel boat launch open all night?

...would I even want to go?

I'm working nights now and don't want to ruin my sleep schedule by starting to fish the surf at Elmer's at 0530, so I'm looking at the overnight pier patrol.

Or should I skip Bonnabel and make the longer trip to the Grand Isle fishing pier? I just looked at Bonnabel first because it's closer but I'd go to Grand Isle if it'll be a lot better.

I've got an LED to drop in the water, it always did well for me at Galveston.

If you want to catch fish id go to grand isle. Maybe look into the St Tammany fishing pier over in Slidell.

I'll check it out. Do they have a bait shop there?

I moved here a few months ago and I have been fishing around the pier and the outlet channel about 150 yards to the west of bonnabel boat launch probably 2 or 3 times a week with my fly rod. I catch some small perch, bass and the occasional lady fish. There are some HUGE gar in the outlet channel.
