Is it too late to put out a salt/mineral block

Just getting a new stand location established. Finished clearing my shooting lanes and will set up a corn feeder this weekend. Is it worth my money to buy a mineral block for this season or should I wait till next spring?

Deer are attracted to salt year round.
As far as contributing to antler growth, you're too late for it to make a difference.

Not sure where you are located but deer should still be growing horns. Put it out. Does are also having fawns right now. They will be nursing into the fall and any help you can give them on nutrients their body looses the better.

Certainly could not hurt. I find in North La that they hit them very hard until Mid October or early November.

It's just about right for next season.
I find an old tree that I don't want and cut it off about chest high. Then I drag the tree off and use it as a brush pile bedding cover somewhere.
I then take two or three sacks of rock salt and put them all over the stump and the ground around it. Then I put two blocks on top of the stump. But high enough that deer can't reach them. They will slowly melt into the stump.
This model lasts about 20 years. Refresh about every three years. Eventually the stump goes away and there's just a hole in the ground.

We made a station m with trace mineral salt, stock salt and dicalcium phosphate. We started 2 spots last year in February and refreshed them this year again and started 2 more. The deer frequent them quite regularly and have Dug a hole into the ground. They are definitely worth doing....even now

I put mine out about a month ago, they've been hammering them. Definitely worth putting out.

What kind of mineral block do you recommend? One with molasses and feed? Granular mineral?

like others have said, its never too late, i used manna pro goat minerals and a trophy rock in the same spot. i am shocked at the results and still have 4-6 weeks until the velvet dries up. i'll upload pics as soon as I figure out how...
