I hear they allow golf carts on the beach now. Is it electric only or is gas ok? And last question, If gas is ok do you know if they give you shite if it's more like a ranger or utv type vehicle rather than an actual golf cart? TIA

Gas golf carts are fine. Side by sides are frowned upon because most people can't help themselves and cut up on the beach.

stick with a golf cart. even if its gas they usually wont mess with you. Do not let young kids drive it, dont drive it at night, and leave the side by side at the house.

IIRC the rules were dileberately worded as electric only to indirectly keep the side by sides and 4wheelers off the beach.
I've seen plenty of gas golf carts on the beach, however. Have also heard they will tell the folks with SxS and 4wheelers to GTFO the beach.

Just don't be an arse with it and you should be fine.
Use it to get to your spot on the beach and just park it and leave it there until you're ready to leave.

supposed to be electric. but with the lack of local police in area i'm sure they don't care.
search "ATVs on Grand Isle Beach" there was a lenght thread earlier in the year
you would be an idiot to pull a sxs out there with the amount of coastal restoration going on down there

Electric only but the only time I have seen it enforced was Memorial Day weekend and tarpon rodeo. Then they were telling people with gas utvs to get off the beach and if they were caught again there would be a 500 ticket issued that's what they told a guy that was staying with us. He had his wife and kids on a ranger. Never had a problem other than those weekends
