I think it was somewhere around Leplace on both sides of the road was a lot of land and it had some small white signs. Either hunting club or WMA. What is it?

They have added to it from that pic, Hat. Let me see if I can find an updated map.

When I used to drive back to BR at night, I would see anywhere from 5-20 deer on the tree line along the interstate.

Always wondered if that was hunting land or not...still don't know.

WHo does most of that land belong to and what do they do with it? Just curious :)

Most of the stretch between LaPlace and Baton Rouge is?

So you're telling me all those Bambies are safe?

I swear I see guys in trucks or with 4-wheelers from time to time in camo. I also see some deer stands at certain points.

ETA:

Ahh so its all public hunting?

There is deer hunting there along with most other hunting, but it is tough hunting. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries owns the property which is 120,470 acres. For reference there is 640 acres in a square mile...

Actually, I have friends who own a lot of the land off the interstate, basically the majority of St. John parish. From I-55 and I-10 to gramercy, so be careful because a lot of it is private.
