We catch em all the time when using shiners. Slimy bastards. They pull pretty hard and are a good fight if you ever hook one on a rod and reel.

I've only seen them caught on rid n reels a few times and it was always someone else I was with. The reaction can be pretty damn hilarious. Many folks have never had encounters with them and the shock factor is pretty high.

I've actually heard of a guy that would catch them or trap them some kind of way and sell them overseas. Not sure which asian country.
