Mossberg 930. It fed perfectly fine until I installed this tube extension. Has anyone had this problem?

I've read that the demples cause this. I've read a couple methods about fixing it one is just grinding it down and the other punching a socket in and using a rachet to back it out.

I was hoping one of you could give me a better solution before I just started grinding and hammering on a new gun.

Barrel extension? Do you mean mag tube extension? If so, it should have come with a longer spring, did you get that?

Yes mag tube extension, my bad. Got a longer spring. It's definitely got the pressure. Just something is catching it and I have to push it in and press the release to get a shell out.

I kept playing with it and slide the bolt back a few times and sometimes it would feed and I'd reload and it won't again. Sometimes afte I push the shell in and press the release multiple shells will come out.

It's hanging up on something and it shouldn't have anything to do with the extension if the first shell is stalling.

Well I'm not sure about the Mossberg style of shotgun, but I know the Remington 870s are the ones with the dimples you speak of. The Mossbergs may have them too but I am unsure.

I just loaded and unloaded it this morning before work and no problems. But I still need to fix whatever's causing that.

I drilled out the dimples on my 870. Didn't know the mossberg had them as well.

Idk if iT does to be honest. Just reading shite on the web.

I'm thinking it was made for the 870 and 500 but it FITS the 930 so the seller put it as for that. I'll have to examine it a little more.

Make sure your spring isn't too long.

That's exactly what it was. I put the factory spring back in and it fed like a champ.

Wonder why they even put the longer spring?

OB comes through clutch again. Appreciate it infidel.

It was made for the 500. I got it off eBay and was listed for the 930.

Well, it fits the 930, but I when I went and looked at the paperwork it didn't list my gun. Just the 500 remmy 870 and one other. After infidel suggested the spring being too long, I remembered that the 500 has a 20" barrel and the 930 has an 18.5.

I was getting pissed. I stayed up til 1 fricking with it and trying to feel for a factory defect in the mold. Anything I could find.

Thank god for the OB bc the rest of the web were suggesting some fricked up stuff that didn't even apply to my gun. (mossberg doesn't have divots like the 870).
