Have really liked the Dodge Ram 1500 Quads i have seen and I am leaning toward trying to find an '08-'10 used. Anyone have anything bad to say about them?

Anyone recommend a moderately priced model? Want Quad Cab and don't need 4WD (as most of my driving is Hwy/City)

Was thinking of going back to Silverado as well, as I really haven't had any trouble with mine (other then a blown power booster a few years ago)

How much are you wanting to spend?

Does resale matter to you?

only getting 10k for my Silverado looking to spend maybe 10-15k for a good dependable, nice looking truck. Will be used to tow trailer/boat, picking up fill dirt, utility shite.

Thanks

If you can afford it, buy a Tundra.
If not, buy a Ford.

IIRC, the Silverados from those years have problems with their AFM requiring a rebuild of the top end. Get a tundra

Well, I really wanted a Tundra but couldn't justify the cost. I have to take my Ford in for an issue next week. The rubber seal around the bottom of the front glass is coming loose.

I cant believe they are much more than a ford, if any.

Sorry to hear that, but it could be worse.

A dodge that old will be in the cracked dash/interior parts falling off stage.

I'm a fan of the Rams. If you can swing it I'd get a 13 or newer ram. That's when they changed the interior pretty dramatically and started using the 8 speed transmissions in some models. Great truck. Even the new quad cab ram expresses can be bought in the mid to high 20s at the right time of the year. One of the best values ram has if that's a possibility.

If you get a Ram get a 2010+

2008 was the last year of the crappy design. 2009 was the first year of the new design. My 2011 was very reliable and my 2015 is so far so good.

Only concern with a 2008-10 Silverado is the issue mentioned above. Don't rule out F150's or Tundras either...they'll cost a little more but are good trucks.
