I have the Columbia Watertight II. I've used it a bunch running and fishing. It's a little warm with the liner, but it's a good rain jacket.

I have a Marmot Precip and I find that it is very breathable. I especially like the under arm vent zippers.

With a waterproof breathable garment the fabric technology is #1 and the brand/maker is #2. GoreTex pro (NOT GoreTex pro Shell), eVent, or Neoshell. With properly seam sealing any jacket made from these materials will give you the best waterproofness + breathability.

If you want to stay dry, get a Drake jacket. Thank me later.

frogg toggs was founded in 1996
Still True, they are the bibb bind too. I actually had to get another buckle from them about 5 years ago because it broke.

Helly Hansen. Not overpriced, good quality.

I've got an Orvis sonic tailwaters wading jacket. I can swim in it without getting wet. Pricey, but not Simms pricey

Most are heavy. Limited uses IMO but they are great jackets. OP, check out Outdoor Research.

I have the most basic Marmot. It is a fine jacket but it's a very thin layer and the lining is the laminate material. My stuff in my pockets gets wet all the time. It's a good lightweight coat. Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I went and tried on a bunch at REI this evening and my favorite was the North Face Dryzzle (terrible name IMO). It fit the best between the Marmot, Patagonia, Columbia and other brand's equivalents.

EBay, USMC Gore-Tex, MARPAT Woodland, can't be beat

The answer for this is always Patagucci.
