Not sure what Burge used, but I have a Fortis and got a gunsmith to grind down the standard front sight gas block so I wouldnt have to buy another piece. I think any quality low profile block will work though.

Burge would just grind down the front sight, most stable gas block you can have.

It's a build from scratch so I'll either buy the fortis one or a BCM low profile. Pretty sure I can't go wrong with BCM.

Is your barrel dimpled? If so, set screw low pro gas block should be pretty secure.

To prevent losing springs, put two hi back chairs at each end of a coffee table. Put a white towel on the coffee table. Hang a white sheet over you and the two hijack chairs like a tent. If a springs shoots out of your project, and it will at least once, you will easily find it and also see where it goes as well. fYI only. It worked for me.

He needs them for BF3, but actually the way broke played he could use the excuse.

Wow man. Thats some awesome customer service. I still like the Samson rails, but that kind of service I would really consider those. That thread reads like the OT with guns. Its amazing what social media can do.

I have one on my 18" SPR, really want to get a 14" for it but I love it.

After reading burges thread, I wonder if they will just switch them out

I was very selective on where I posted that picture, the ARetards on wilson combats facebook page (or really any firearms page on facebook) and on ar15.com just like to talk out their arse. m4carbine.net and lightfighter.net are about the best places to correspond with industry people and people who actually use their weapons.

I've seen it on fortis' website and one or two FB pages, I think one was "Just POG things", "blue falcon society" or "awesome shite my drill sergeant said" cant remember which.

I find ar15.com to be very informative. I learned there not to cover a muzzle brake/flash hider, or anything that pushes high pressure gasses out the sides, with a rail.

Seems to be a lot of pretentious dick heads running around that site. Maybe it's just me, but I'm a noob to ar15 platform. I didn't find them very inviting.

Just my .02

Just curious, did anyone(Fortis or M4carbine.net) mention not putting a rail around a brake/hider?

Haven't decided on the barrel either. Looking at the 16" mid-length BCM. Anyone have other suggestions?

AR15 can give you a lot of info, but its also a lot of people that aren't really all that knowledgeable or they just regurgitate group speak. M4 and Lightfighter have more seasoned AR vets that sometimes just dont have the patience for people that don't learn the basics or do their research before they ask questions.

No doubt, thats always the case .

To be honest with you, I never would've thought the pressure would've been that high to damage the rail like that to begin with.
