Place we hunt we have to sit in about a foot of water. Public land so nothing permanent. Used a bucket yesterday at this new spot and every time I stood up the bucket would pop up and tip over. Got all my crap wet. Need something light as we have a good walk to our spot are already carrying too much.

Plenty of companies make a "marsh seat" so take your pic. Avery, Banded, Game Winner, Mojo, Tanglefree. All the same basic design

I don't know how much you're willing to invest, but the millennium g100 blind chairs look pretty sweet. I'm not sure how much they weigh either but carrying it a little ways in the morning is probably worth being comfortable the whole hunt.

This is exactly the situation the marsh or swamp seats described by other posters are designed for.

If possible, get one thats adjustable in the field with pins instead of needing to unscrew a nut/bolt. Also, swivels seats are nice.

I have one. It only has the two little legs that fold open to hold in the mud. I'd get one that has 3 or 4 legs. I find myself slowly falling forward or backwards all morning.

Yeah, those look sick. Probably worth every bit of $275 if it has room to store a blind bag.

I've got 2 MoMarsh products and they're awesome and surprisingly light weight.

I laughed out loud.
Ones I saw for around $50 didn't say swivel seat so either that's a given or they didn't have that feature and I need to look more. I need the swivel seat, the birds are in all directions where I hunt. I mean it's no secret. It's big branch. Most everyone here knows what it's like to duck hunt marsh

Marsh sheet as said and for the win, a piece of plywood to stand on. Cut a hole in it big enough to fit the marsh seat through. Tie a rope to the wood where you can pull it up after hunting because it will want to sink and get sucked into the mud. Some friends showed me this and it's great.

Banded Deluxe Slough Stool

Worth noting that Banded makes a version that doesn't swivel so just make sure of the model before purchasing if you buy it from somewhere else.

See I have some thing just like that. It works fine if the mud is pretty firm. But in nasty Sabine mud, it always ends up leaning.

Understandable. I think that's where the cut piece of plywood mentioned above comes into play. Would distribute the weight over a bigger area and theoretically be more stable.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with that soup. Up here the worst it gets is sinking 6" every 5th or so step.

That's a really good idea.

Sinking up to your thighs every step isn't fun

My place is hit or miss with the soft spots. Sometimes it's firm and the next step is 4 feet of oatmeal

Whatever you do get a small bread pallet or 2 liter pallet and stand on that when you shoot. We used to use the plywood method as offered above but it's too heavy. Plastic pallets are the shite I'll be standing on one tomorrow.
