It's obvious that your god is too small to handle such an insignificant request. Mine says I should pray for all things.

Too bad for you, my friend.

Prayers aren't mutually exclusive. You can pray for more than one thing.

Thanks for the reply.

Put a shirt of yours out on the ground somewhere that you have sweated on or worn all day with a bowl of water. Some dogs will smell your scent and just lay down by it.

Or if the dog has a favorite toy, put that next to the water. Don't use food.

I have actually read that was one of the best ways to find a dog that had gone missing was to set their crate up in the last place you saw them and place a familiar shirt inside there

Then don't pray for the dog, asshat. Pray for human suffering...everything from those lonely and starving, to those who are hurting from the loss of an animal companion.

Any news? Have you called the nearest vets in your area to see if someone dropped your dog off with them? Or the Animal Control Office?

Still hasn't shown back up. I have called all local shelters and vets, put up signs in our neighborhood, posted on Nextdoor, posted on Craigslist and 3 lost pets groups, our neighborhood page, and my dad has gone by the EBR animal shelter twice. At least 50 people have shared on their pages on Facebook, so if the person wanted, they should have seen the post.

We have canvased our neighborhood and all others around ours at least 10-15 times.

We have gotten zero response from even anyone in the neighborhood saying they even saw her.

we're just dumbfounded about how she appears to have disappeared into thin air during the middle of the day.

There are some wooded areas that surround our neighborhood, so tomorrow I'm going to take the unhappy task of seeing if she wandered into the woods and passed away.

I'm staying with my parents to try and help as i can with finding her, and it chokes me up hearing my dad go out every night and try to whistle and bring her home to no avail.

look in ditches, we found our old dog stuck in a weedy ditch several years back. he simply didnt have the strength, eyesite, hearing to get out. He was ok, but died a few weeks later after making a round through the acreage.

he was one of those freedom loving dogs that couldnt be held by a fence or electrical fence.
