I was talking with a work collegue in the UK about gun ownership and...

It made me feel truly blessed to live in a country where you are free to be a responsible gun owner and our constitution protects that freedom. He was telling me about all the BS permits and registration he has had to go through in order to buy a shotgun for bird hunting and shooting sporting clays.

Maybe the Brits are still mad about what happened here starting in 1776? It would have been a lot more difficult to have cornered Lord Cornwallis with pitchforks and tobacco sticks...

When you have a monarchy, it is best to keep the unmasses unarmed and powerless. That mindset endures from when the monarchy held actual power.

Yeah, I plan on buying some guns one day . . . since my last ones were lost in that terrible boat fire in the swamp.

It's one of those issues we absolutely cannot compromise on. If we any ground is given up they will just want more and more.

IIRC, there are countries where there is no legal way for a civilian to posses any type of firearm.
