killing them is easy, but can you prevent them from nesting around your house?

after reading this, I started thinking about a nest that I saw on one of my window frames the last time I cut grass and decided to go out and kill those frickers....

just thought you might enjoy knowing that this thread prompted me to massacre a nest...

The other day I was turning into my friends apartment complex. Windows down. A wasp the size of a 50 cent piece flies into my car. Thank God I was already up the drive. I flipped shite. Almost left the car in drive and jumped out. He went under the glove compartment. I never saw him leave. I'm convinced the fricker laid some eggs.

If you want to see some wasps, check your box blinds right about now. I hope to head out to the camp this weekend and bomb those suckers.

In four of our box stands on our lease, I've killed probably around 200 of those damn things

I was stung on my ear and it was one of the worst pains I think I've ever experienced. 4 days of throbbing.

An October not long ago I climbed a nearly 80 ft ladder stand on a big cypress tree and when I got to top, while still on ladder, I put my hand in the middle of a wasp nest under the armrest of the chair.

Was a very serious situation. Did not let go but got lit up.

Abandoned stand until they froze.

Had one catch me on the front of my ankle recently. When they hit you where the skin is thin, the hurt goes pretty deep. Felt like the devil himself stabbed my leg with his pitchfork. Had a limp for a day or two.

They sting!? Oh shite. I guess there's another bug I need to hate.

Wasps used to build nests in my BBQ grill, when I lived in an apartment. I would always lift the lid to check, before grilling. Since the grill was on a small, fenced in patio, I had no where to run. So, I would stand in the back doorway, and lift the lid with a mop handle. That way, if there were wasps, I could just drop the mop, shut the door, and kill them after they calmed down. Anyway, I guess my daughter had been playing with the mop and left it on the ground. So, I'm standing in the doorway, lifting the lift with the mop handle. I let the lid drop (no wasps, thank goodness), but a snake drops out of the mop head, at my feet. Weird...

Hate those fricking red wasps....when I was around 5 or 6 back in the early '70s I got dive bombed by 3 of those frickers. Of course, it probably wasn't a good idea to be throwing bean bags from our toss-across game at the nest. Hadn't been stung in the last 10 years, then one got me a few weeks ago. Went to get something out the shed and one dropped on my head - knocked him off and he stung me on the ankle. Ice helps on the sting.
A while back Imposted a story on here about how my flat boat drifted right into an overhanging tree that had a nest around 2-3 feet long covered with hundreds of red wasps. I didn't know they even made nests that large. Not a single one left the nest, and the boat shook the heck out of that tree. Scariest moment of my life - especially since I can't swim and wasn't wearing a life jacket.

Yes it's too high. We've got three stands that are at least that high. Put up when those single back tube ladders came out. Guy got carried away. Real wild to climb, especially with muddy feet.

They are still up but I don't think I'd climb one now.

I actually prefer to hunt on the ground. No wasps and I've killed more deer that way. Lol.

i'll visit it and take pics.

That would be 88 feet. I just don't see how you could take a good shot at a deer from that height and you are begging to die if anything goes wrong.

80 foot high dive
