I hate a damn thief..Update

Today has been one of those days.I am building my wife a kitchen table thats a late Mothers Day present and am very close to finishing it.I live out in the country and have a 40x120 barn about 200 yds from the house that I am building it in.There is no power back there so I have been using my little 3500 watt portable generator to power my saws and other tools.My 10 yr old son and I go back there this morning to start sanding it and getting it ready for stain.Well I'll be damned if they didnt take my generator and an old sander that was my dads.It wasnt worth much monetarily but alot to me since he passed away 4 yrs ago.I used it Monday so it had to be between then and now.They left a table saw,miter saw,and a dewalt drill among other hand tools.There are 4 wheeler tracks leading from an old trail onto our place.I went ahead and set my camera out and called the sheriff.Now we wait.

Yes.moultrie d55ir I think.I have it all camoed up.My 10 yr old got a kick out of trying to get it set up in a hidden spot along their trail.I have everything locked up now but I hope they come back.It just pisses me off but maybe I can turn the tables on them.If I get the a-hole on cam I am posting his pic here after I call the sheriff.

My real question though, if someone uses that generator to power the sander to grind the serial number off KBeezy's stolen pistola which is then used to commit a crime, who is more liable? You or KBeezy?
