How necessary is it to get it checked out?

Going on for a week or so. Initially red rash around bite. Itchy. Since then, the rash has faded. Bite spot more apparent.

I basically squeezed it to get any infection out. No pain. No Itchy. No swelling.

Looks like a circle ring around the bite mark now.

Am I going to lose my leg?

You're fine. Take a Motrin 800.

It's just a bite now.

The rash is gone. Took a week.

I'd keep an eye on it. If its serious the ring will get bigger and blacker. Put some tobacco on it and suck on a D's.

Had a brown recluse bite yrs ago. Felt crappy, same circle, black dot, went to the doc and took antibiotics. Cleared up in a day.

I let mine on my Achilles go,for about 5 days and the center became a crater. The doc gave me a strong antibiotic and it eventually healed. The skin in the area is still discolored after 6 months...

Trace the outside of the ring with a pen. If it grows go to the hospital.

Do not listen to anyone on here trying to diagnose you without examining the wound. They have not a clue what they speak of. Go to a doc if it doesn't start getting better.
I had a similar incident. I even went to the doc after a couple of weeks and he even diagnosed me with a brown Recluse spider bite at first. It ended up being a rare form of leukemia. Go to the doc. I wouldn't be here if I didn't.

if the area around the bite got bruised, that sounds like a spider bite...

the "ring" that you mention does sound like lyme disease...have you found a tick on yourself recently?...

regardless, go and get checked by a doc, as lyme disease is easily curable but will really frick a person up if left undiagnosed...
