I've never hunted in my life. In a few years the wife and I plan on downsizing and I want a nice piece of land. I'm hoping to live on something between 15-30 acres, partially cleared and partially wooded. What determines what land can be hunted on? I'm talking more along the lines of hunting rabbits with a .22.Though I could envision possibly deer hunting if the land was big enough for that. Is it just an "outside city limits" thing? Or with small game is it a "as long as your neighbors ain't close enough to complain" thing? I'll likely end up in either Folsom, Picayune area, or Kiln.

Tissue far easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

15-30 is going to be tight for deer hunting, unless you're adjacent to some nice tracts that aren't developed and have plenty of woods. You would be able to, but you'd have 2-3 stands for rifle.

But yes, outside of city limits. All the places you listed are going to be fine.
