Hunting question re butchering deer in field

Going into my third year deer hunting, all public land.

I heard but haven't read that you can only field dress and not fully clean deer on public lands in LA. Some places I go are hard to get a deer out and being able to break them down like they do out west seems like it would be the tits.

I'm sure federal VS WMA may vary, too.... Anyone know of any state guidance? I can't recall anything in the regs other than sex ID. Would it be somewhere under title 56?

That won't work in a lot of places (varied water depths, mud, logs, etc). I've used a jet sled and that was a PIA even.

I also would not want to take that in each hunt or make another trip if not needed.

I got tired carrying my 5 year old on my back yesterday...I'm screwed.
