Two men remain in the hospital after shooting
RESIDIO COUNTY, Texas (WEAR) — A Pensacola doctor is recovering after he and another person were attacked while on a hunting trip in Texas.
The incident occurred while Edwin Roberts and several others were at the Circle Dug Ranch, which is 10 miles North West of Candelaria, Texas on Friday around 9:30 p.m.
Chief Deputy Joel Nunez said he responded to a call “of shots fired, multiple shooters and two individuals severely injured”.
NM Hunting Guide, Client Wounded on Mexico border.
While guiding an aoudad hunt in Presidio county Texas, a New Mexico hunting guide was shot in the abdomen and seriously wounded Friday night after what appears to have been an attempt to kidnap his clients on the Mexico border.
Per a family source, everyone was in bed preparing for an early hunt, the guides and cooks inside the house and the clients in the rental RV parked nearby. Walker heard voices outside and went to see what the noises were, he witnessed men with guns attempting to take the RV, he then ran back inside to get help. Walker and Michael armed themselves to defend and protect the client and to attempt to deter the assailants while the hunter attempted to escape in the RV which was being shot at repeatedly. The vehicle is riddled with bullet holes from the attack and suffered other structural damage.
The attack lasted long enough for Walker to run back to the house and get more ammunition, when he was close to the door his sister, saw him get shot and was able to drag him inside the house and away from the gunfire. The women in the lodge were able to get a spotty cell signal and call 911.
The attack has the family concerned that the attack was not just an attempt to rob the property. They believe the assailants intended to kill all the party. The attackers were strategically placed around the lodge and the men were fired upon from different areas.

I ran across the first ever wetbacks we've seen at our place this year. Knowing they were around made walking to the stands the next morning in the dark a little creepier. They literally have nothing to lose at that point.

You should open the gate and let them out already

Sounds like the Sheriff doesn't want that Wall to be Built.
Border Patrol Special Operations Supervisor Rush Carter said agents aided sheriff’s deputies in securing the scene.
“It’s highly unusual for our part of the border,” Carter said. “Any kind of gun violence just doesn’t happen. I wouldn’t say ‘at all,’ but very, very few incidents. If we have gunplay in our area of operation, it’s not folks coming from Mexico doing that.
Can we please fire the Border Patrol Special Ops Supervisor and Sheriff who are totting the political lines over public safety.

That was the first thing I did I had my BIL with me who thankfully spoke some spanish, told them to get in the back of the truck and got them off the ranch. Pointed them in the right direction (they were far af from where they were supposed to be going) and told them if they came back it would be no bueno.

Not sure where the apprehension to the wall is implied, but that article is curious. They say a few times that the expert trackers said there is no evidence of anyone being there other than those staying at the ranch. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
We had a young man and his girlfriend in a stand at our company lease in Freer Thanksgiving morning that saw about 30 of them. He called his dad at the camp and he hauled arse out there to meet his son. They wound up catching 2 of them and held at gunpoint until border patrol arrived. They said when you start chasing them, they usually split up into groups of 2 and scatter. They were sending a chopper to round up the rest, but it got diverted to the next ranch over because they had spotted a group of about 60.
The club president said they have been pouring across the border ever since the election.

The Presidio County Sherriff and Border Patrol says that no evidence has been found to support a cross border attack. I live in a neighboring county and have been In that area several times along Hwy 170 and Chispa Road. I have never had any worries down there. I will be interesting to see the outcome. We have very little border violence in this part of Texas.

Ranchers should be armed at all times and get benefit of the doubt if they shoot one

This wasn't the first time they have had problems with illegals crossing the boarder. About a month or so ago their camp was robbed by illegals. Thankfully those were caught and stolen items returned. This time the illegals set themselves up around the camp all I can say is God was looking out for them. Don't be so quick to jump on the media band wagon of covering up the truth.

Dave English thank you for defending my family. I can assure you that they are not involved with drugs. The group of illegals that attacked them probably were or if not they were still up to no good.

“It’s a tourist attraction in the Big Bend area, and nobody wants to talk about it, but a lot of ranches have seen a lot of terrible things,” Schneberger said by phone. “This is personal.”

We were told to do whatever you feel necessary. I was told they usually hire the coyote that leads them thru the brush until they get to Hwy 44 where a box truck or whatever picks them up. I was also told that sometimes the coyote leading them will have a gun and if you're sitting in a boxstand, you are basically a sitting duck. I know they get in the stands and sleep sometimes to get off the ground; it's some scary shite.
You really can't blame them for wanting a better life, but damn, I couldn't imagine walking 40 or 50 miles thru the terrain down there. Every fricking bush has thorns or stickers of 1 type or another.

I couldn't imagine being out on my property trying to enjoy a hunt knowing I could have these frickers around. What's to stop them from ambushing you when you get out of your truck or atv and stealing it? There is no reason a tax paying American citizen should fear foreign citizens attacking them. That not called immigration, that's called an invasion

Classic example of what we all did as American teenagers. Steal RV near border, try to kill anyone in it. Come on admit it. We have all been there!
No reason to even suspect Mexicans.

Some walk a few hundred miles just to get to the border. Its 700 miles from Mexico city to Laredo. Then most end up in Chicago or New Your.
