I have a feeder right outside my window by my computer and it is full of hummingbirds this year.

I always watch them run each other off the feeder but never actually touch each other. Do they ever actually fight or do they just buzz each other?

I just cleaned and refilled the feeder. They should be here shortly.

Living here in Kansas means we get them a bit later than you guys. I grew up loving them because of my grandmother having about 6 feeders going at a time. Hundreds of them which was cool, until the day my grandfather god pissed at one of the fighters and grabbed a .22 and shot him. I laugh now!

The ones around my house will touch each other, you can hear them smack together sometimes. Very territorial and always in conflict. A few years ago I got lucky and had a nest outside my office window.
