How old do you think this guy is? What do you base your estimate on?

What difference does it make, he's been injured and his rack will never amount you anything. Shoot him.

agree with 3.5.

Hes definitely one you want to shoot that single beam will frick a bunch of other deer up when fighting.

Shot him last weekend. I'm just trying to get better at aging them from photos. I will get a picture of his jawbone soon.

Solid neck=older than 2.5
Straight back=younger than 5.5

Using that range, I look at his pot belly, or lack there of, sending me back to the low end of the scale.

Horns landed me at 3.5.

We killed one almost identical to that this year. No idea on age, he would be a horse down around where we are. 3.5 would be my stab in the dark though.
