Old buddy of mine has had it since his early 20's. He's 81 now.

Polychoke knocks down the value unfortunately.

he also told me he got it from a friend who had it for a while before he got it. This thing has to be at least 70-80 years old. BTW,that choke cones right off

It is definitely an old Browning. Look up the DOM here.

Even if the choke comes off the barrel was cut / modified.

Math adds up, guy is 80, got it @20, 60 years ago would be 1955 said it was used when he got it, so that's correct based on SN and story.

Is it a Belgium made?

It is Belgium.

I see some soft edges that make me think it might be reblued, but I could be wrong.

It was reblued. It's pretty easy to tell that on those old Brownings. The original finish was much "darker"

Possibly. I have one on an old 20 but the vents are different. The poly was flush with the barrel...no extension.

I have that gun in a 16, sans the choke. That is one fricked up safety on the trigger guard.

I'm thinking $500.

Thanks fellas. We were just sitting and talking and he showed it to me. I told him what you all said it's worth. Honestly I thought way more but I don't know shite about gun values. That's why I asked Y'all.
