Yes. You should donate a few to a fellow OBer who is less fortunate.

I only have around 16-20 and will gladly help you downsize that number.

dang, and i thought i was outa' control with 21 (not including set-ups for 3 mack jr's).
what really ridiculous is the amount of touts my dad, bro-in-law, and i have. it would have to be measured in pounds to get some kinda idea.

I could see 65 if you spend a lot of time doing all three. Saltwater alone requires a lot of gear, and includes a dozen different types of fishing. Freshwater isn't far behind. Between bass, perch/bream, and catfish setups I probably have owned as many as 20 at once.

For the average person 65 a shite ton though, most people don't have the time or money to be that serious about all three types of fishing you mentioned.

I don't think it's ridiculous. I haven't sat down and counted but rods that are currently being used, not but 15 or so. I just ordered two new fiberglass rods yesterday, a 3wt and a 5/6wt. I've retired a lot of rods over the years, like a bunch of Sage RPL's and Orvis Helios. I have a pretty extensive bamboo rod collection as well. All together it's somehwere close to 75 ish but that includes a lot of rods that I bought as novelties. All fly rods with the exception of 1 baitcasting combo.

The biggest problem I have is reels. I buy the shite out of direct drive, cork drag reels.

Yes
I have 14 I keep in the boat, and 6 back up combos for bass.
3 zebco rigs for kids and people who cant throw the others.
And I think I have to many, just cant bring myself to get rid of any.

No. They sell them at Academy. They are pretty poor quality. What I like is that they are on wheels, so when I rig up the night before, I just roll them into the living room and have everything I need right next to the couch.

I'm looking for some may just be better to build my own. All the ones I've looked at weren't the best quality.
