If I purchase a gun and get approved on my background check, then a few days later go to buy another gun from the same dealer, will I still have to fill out another 4473?

Different day, you have to fill out another form.
You can only purchase multiple firearms on one 4473 if purchased at the same time.

Ok, I wasn't sure. I was hoping that I could just tell them I had already filled one out and not have to worry about it again. All this is just in case they only have one when I go. If they have two then this is a moot point.

The NICS check is actually good for 30 days. So if you go buy a gun and get delayed or otherwise leave without taking possession of the firearm you have 30 days to go back, recertify the 4473 (sign it again) and take the gun.

But every time you purchase a gun you have to fill out a 4473, and every 4473 gets it's own NICS check. You can have only one or as many as a trillion guns on one 4473.
