How do I get my magazines to function right?

I have a .22 that came with a 5 round mag. I ordered 2 10 round magazines to have some spares. The 5 round works like butter but the 10 round hangs up my bullets on the actual bullet (lead) when I try to chamber it (bolt action). How do I fix this or is it just a lost cause?

what are the lips on the magazine? If metal you may be able to polish them with really fine wet/dry sandpaper and then polish with some furniture wax.

It's a metal lip. I'll have to see how they work but it seems like it actually sends the bullet up in a bind

Try loading the 10 rounders with 5-7 rounds, does that help? If so I bet the spring's too weak.

If I could see it maybe I could diagnose but kinda hard to tell without looking.z

ETA: Sometimes my 15-22 mags will bind when really full. Basically the bullet pivots on the rim and it hits the front of the magazine. I have to make sure it sits all the way to the rear so it can't pivot.

When it gets down to 5 or 6 rounds they feed perfectly.

Savage Mark 2 with threaded barrel. I use it with my suppressor.
