How do I get into hunting?

I've never been hunting of any type, ever. I have friends who duck hunt and I think that would be fun, but I dont want to be the guy who holds the group back. Should I just see if I can go on a few hunts and just drink at first or is it something you have to do to learn?
ETA: I fish with the guys who duck hunt, so they would let me come on a hunt I just dont want to impose and look like a moron out there.

Well you won't learn how to drive a car watching other people drive a car. Ask your friends if they wouldn't mind taking you along.

I dont think they would, but I guess im going to make an arse out myself no matter if I watch first or not

PLEASE...take a hunter safety course first...lots of good information to be had ...

At least go with the group to add another limit for the rest of them. You will get the hang of it in no time.

Hardest part about getting into hunting is having access to it. It's hard if you don't have access to land or the know how to hunt public land. Or if you don't have someone to teach you the basics. Sounds like you have a pretty good in on hunting, so it's pretty easy to start up from there.

Yea I have some ins, I dont want to just stroll out there and act like I can knock down a limit of ducks. I think I'll probably spend my first trip watching.

Just don't shoot first if you're that worried. Always be conscious of where you are aiming and know what section of the blind you can shoot out of so you don't accidentally shoot someone and you're good to go.

I never mind taking a newb friend as long as they carry their own shite and bring beer. Make sure you do some shooting. It'll be more fun for you and more funny for them. Just be safe
