My buddy went to the Houston Gun Show yesterday.
He said it is utter mayhem there.

It took over an hour to get in the door.

Standard Bushmaster's (reg: $850) were selling for $3500-$4500. Basic magazines were selling for $80-$100 each.

Face to face sales outside the building were insane. An AK-47 (face-to-face, so no history of purchase) was going for $2000.

Money was flying everywhere.

Every AR is sold out or pulled off the shelf everywhere in the area. Not a bullet to be found either.

On the other hand.....I was at Bass Pro and they had 20 Bushmasters for sale. $849. They sold them all in about 45 minutes. But, they said they will get more every day.

Will the ban go through????

I know Gun Makers, Ammo Makers and Gun Dealers are all having their best year of sales ever. They certainly encourage the mayhem.

What are the thoughts of the OB?

I doubt this ban goes through. Good to see the arms manufacturers making money though. This shows how moronic even talking about a ban is. Best way to arm the populace, say the word ban.

There is too much money to be made by all parties for the Feds to institute another ban of any nature, IMO.

Ban?

A ban on any firearm that was originally designed for a country's armed forces. And, semi-autos. And high capacity magazines.

Basically, anything beyond "sporting" use. That's what I am hearing.

all AK-47 and AR-15 variants have been selling like hotcakes. Especially the magazines for each. most sites online are sold out. prices are rising quickly on some sites. lots of ammo being sold quickly also.

supply and demand.

It is absurd. Unless you're a total idiot (not you, op), you're not going to wake up one morning to find there is a ban.

Really??? If that hysteria comes to the Mississippi gun shows I'm gonna take my DDM4 to the next jackson gun show and see if I can get any suckers to pay that much. Go to the daniel defense web page, buy another one for $1500 and pocket $3000

Ain't spouting tater...ain't gonna get into a pissing match...i'm a gun owner myself...but really...whats the point of having a 'sporting' gun? I use mine for hunting, not 'sporting'.

Go away. WHY wouldn't you want one.. FYI I use my AR to hog hunt. I'm not carrying a bolt action only to have some mom of a piggy I just dropped to come charge at me. I've seen it done.

Some people enjoy shooting. Some (like me) bought them to do what people are doing now. Selling them for stupidly high prices. Just had a neighbor buy one from me for $2000 more than I paid for it. Now, he's a dumbass.

I'm talking about the 'military' style gun, not SA hunting rifle.
