If you can find some clean water there will be fish, with all the wind it will be difficult in any big water. Just keep moving until you find clean moving water, they have fish out there just look for bait and you should be good.

Stump lagoon is a good starting point, I know some people that go towards Lake Robin and do well for reds and trout.

I go out with my buddy on a canoe or kayaks and slay the bull reds. Every time he goes with out me he fills up on the trout.

We're going a week from today and we're probably heading to the end of the MRGO (short rocks) to target specks using popping corks and live bait. Trout should be heading out of the marsh and into higher salinity waters preparing for the May spawn now that water is warming up. They might still be in transition and hard to find but they should be feeding wherever there is bait in the water. If rocks are not productive the backup plan is Lake of Two Trees and Lake Robin at points with current, bayou entrances and downwind shoreline. That area is loaded with oyster reefs (marked with white poles) and it's a transition zone for specks between their winter hideout and spawn location.

All these areas are perfect for small boats. We see a ton of bass boats at the short rocks each June / July. Unless the wind is heading parallel to the MRGO then either the north or south rocks will be completely protected from waves and wind. Or you could always just try the MRGO rock wall close to the marina. We've had mixed results but there are always boats fishing there. Good luck!
