Honey Island Terrorists

I've heard from some family members that some islamic terrorists on the FBIs watchlist were at the range recently. can anyone corroborate this??

Ima go ahead and go on record saying that if there are Islamic terrorists here, they are probably not gonna be at the local rifle range practicing with their machine guns...

I saw the post on Facebook also. A friend of mine who's friends of the original poster tagged me cause he knew I am an Officer there. It looks as though the post was removed last night but not before I made screen captures and forwarded to our Rangemaster.
Several things that were said didn't jive with our procedures for how we run the range so I'm sceptical on the whole thing.
For what it's worth, we have people at the range every weekend with "Class 3" firearms. It is not our business as to whether a person has a license to own those firearms or not. Our sole responsibility is to ensure the safety of our customers and ourselves. Whether someone has a single shot, bolt action .22 or a full auto M-16 if we get even the smallest inkling that a customer is operating or handling his/her firearm in an unsafe manner we will intervene and if the person has to be corrected twice then they're asked to leave.
We also have people of all races, sexes and ethnicities and I've never seen anything suspicious about the way any of them have acted. That being said, I only work one 4 or 5 hour shift per month so I'm not saying it can't happen.
I honestly believe it's just someone who's freaking out over the situation because of the recent events in the world.

That's exactly how I feel, also... Especially at a range who's max distance of 100 yards will not let you effectively sight in your "sniper rifles" and who's officers won't allow you to just "spray & pray" with your Class 3 firearms...
And do you really think someone from the FBI is going to tell Joe Blow off the streets that yes, there were people on an FBI watch list at a local fun range? Not very likely.

The only people who could corroborate this story as factual are the counter terrorism folks at the FBI and (possibly) CIA, but they're not talking.
But, if you had a lick of common sense, you wouldn't need their input. Even if it's true that swarthy skinned people were firing automatic weapons and "sniper" rifles while conversing in Arabic at a public shooting range (although I seriously doubt even this part of the story); I wonder how would anyone know if they were actual "Islamic terrorists" and/or on a FBI watch list? Did the eavesdropper overhear one "terrorist" saying to another, "I've made the FBI Watch List! Praise Allah! Now I feel like a REAL Islamic terrorist! Death to the Infidels!" Where did the eavesdropper learn Arabic? Maybe the FBI ought to be watching HIM!

Just spoke with our Rangemaster. The official stance of the Range is that it was a non-event. He and the Board of Directors President both spoke with all the officers on shift that day and not one said they had an issue with the group of men that are being written about. If anything, they were all cordial and friendly and even swept their spent casings off the concrete pad which, believe it or not, not many shooters think to do for their fellow shooters after them. No one reported any issues with how the men were handling their firearms.
The group of men causing concern are not even known to be Muslim or Islamic. Some officers recognize them as shooters who frequent the range and have heard them speaking before and couldn't say for sure what language they were speaking.
An official statement will be released in the next few days on Honey Island Shooting Range's website www.honeyisland.org and on our Facebook page.
