Stuck deciding between a 4-wheeler vs a Side by Side. Got two kids, a bit of land. Side by Side will be double the price of the Rancher but will be way more safer for kids to ride, etc. Anyone had to make this decision between ATV and UTV?

I am in the process of buying land and faced with a similar situation. I have a small trailer we built with bench seats and atv tires so i am leaning towards a 4-wheeler and just putting passengers on the trailer. Kids are too young to drive anything though so that makes a difference for me. UTV prices are out of sight might as well buy a second hand jeep if your trails are wide enough

yeah, that is another issue. Easier to make trails for the ATV and it is half the price of the UTV.

Rancher is probably the most bullet proof and overall best bike for the money a person can buy IMO. You cannot tear them up and they crank every time. Sure there are more sexy choices, you just cant go wrong with one.

I have a rancher. Great size to go anywhere. I have friends with atvs that are bigger but there always stuck or can go where I go.
Hondas are great. Id get the kids dirt bikes. Much safe and cheaper.

Had a Rancher and a Rubicon.
Rancher is good for riding and enjoying woods and trail.
Rubicon was a beast. From crawfish ponds to rolling through small brush.

I let a 1997 fourtrax get away after my Uncle passed back in the early 2000's. I always regret not buying it from my Aunt. It was the tan 4x4 one like this.

That was a damn good 4 wheeler too.

I have a carbed manual 350 that has been awesome (other than when my stepbrother sunk it). The only thing I don't like is that it has full-time 4wd. Mine is an 06 also IIRC.

My dad has a fuel injected '15 420, and that thing is fast

The SxS is so much more useful for so many other thing that for me it wouldn't even be a decision.

I had a 4 wheeler that burned in a shop. With the insurance money I was planning on buying another 4 wheeler and my wife talked me into a SxS. Can't imagine not having it now. It's great.

Unless it's all 4 wheeler trails, I'd get an older 95-99 single cab Tacoma for $5k and put some Swampers and a winch on it. Cheaper than a side by side and you get a cab with A/C and heat plus a much bigger bed.

You have literally lost touch with reality here buddy. I almost quit reading the thread but I decided to show you the greatest of all time.

Mine looks almost identical, powder coated rims and all, except it has a red seat now.

Mine is a mid size and I use it for stuff that a Taco just would not do. Too big for so many trails that I use.
