The Hometown USA Stores are dedicated to only selling items 100% made in the USA. From what I read
I was pretty impressed with the overall concept. It seems a business like this would be successful in a conservative state like Texas, La, etc. Anyone have an opinion of this?

I've never had a problem paying a little bit more for American made products, maybe thats just me though.

Where can I shop at one and where can I invest? Will gladly pay more for made in America if made well and truly made in America for decent wages and benefits. I always shop local when I can.

You can shop online or in their Nassau, NY store. They do have an invest tab on their website. I browsed their inventory and they actually had a huge selection and some quality stuff. It would be nice to see this concept take off and become a nationwide chain. I will be sure to shop them next time I have a need.

I have inquired several times about a franchise, but never received a response.

Love the idea! I will happily spend more money if it all stays in this country.

I like the idea a lot, and wish this kind of thing was available....

but when you get right down to it, I think most people will continue to shop at wal mart to save the bucks...

Most will. But you don't need everybody. Then as business builds, prices can come down and be more competitive. There's a misconception that you can't compete with Wal mart but you can. Better service is one way. And their prices are not as low as people think. They'll drop the price on more common items, but jack it up on other stuff. Our pharmacy kicks walmarts arse on prices and service.

True, I think only people that actually make a conscious effort to buy American will be the ones using this, and we are the minority.

As I do, but I'm not buying American made just because it is made in the USA. If it's quality, I'll buy and pay a little more than the foreign made stuff.

Buying locally and American promotes poor customer service and craftsmanship if it's done blindly. Keep them honest.

Agree. But if all things are equal then I'll pay a little more to get American made or local. Example is the numerous Benchmade knives I have. I only need one, but frequently buy one here or there just because or for gifts.

I'll pay more for local, for sure. I try to support local businesses as much as possible.
