Where is a good place to go hiking with the family? We are in Lafayette but are willing to drive a couple of hours.

Clarks Creek is right outside Louisiana. Bogue Chitto is a good state park. You can always hike a section of the Wild Azaela Trail.

Kisatchie is cool

For a hidden gem, look up Fullerton State Park... it was an old logging community near Leesville that was abandoned... a lot of the old building foundations are still there... short trail, but its pretty cool to explore, especially for kids

Has a small campground as well
