Any tricks to not getting ticks on you in the woods while hiking. As it gets warmer, I assume its only going to get worse. I don't want Lyme disease. Went hiking last two weekends and pulled a tick off me after my shower both times.

Lyme disease.
Maps suggest lower occurrence in La. than the east and upper midwest.

Wait until you are sitting in church and have the lady in the pew behind you tell you there's one behind your ear. That, coupled with two kids fighting over who gets to pull it off, was one of the highlights of my 2014 turkey season.

One of my buddies was in the marsh for a weekend and ended up finding a tick under his watch a few days later. Ended up having to go to the hospital for Lyme disease... I knew they carried it but didn't realize it was that common

Good stuff. Soak pants, socks, shirt, and enjoy no bugs.

It's very uncommon in south Louisiana. In Appalachia it's prevalent. Not so much here.

Yup. Lasts a long time as well. I tend to spray my tarp, hammock and UQ just to be sure. I got Lyme disease from a tick in Chicot state park. Was on heavy antibiotics for a long time.

I wonder if I am the only person that read that and immediately rubbed around behind both ears.....

Have you tried soaking in a tub? I just ordered a bottle from Sawyer to try it.

No I haven't. I use their spray bottle with good results so far. I'll just hang everything on a clothesline until it dries. Soaking is probably the best option for maximum effectiveness.
