I volunteer for our local NFL Flag league. We have 5 fields we play on in Spring and Fall and one of them is always a mess after a rain. Obviously its in the lowest area and has no crown to the field what so ever. The city said they may split the cost with us (since they use for soccer etc at other times) for the dirt needed. Field is 70 yards long total (50 plus 10 for each endzone) and 30 yards wide.
Not looking for a professional field but just some help with drainage. Thanks

the equipment to spread/level dirt will probably be higher than the cost of the dirt.

You should get a survey done. You'll know how much fill you need and if just building up that one field is gonna mess up the other fields.

I might be able to help you if you told me where the fields are. It won't be terribly accurate but I've had success getting approximate topos by screenshotting a bunch of angles of an area in google earth and then stitching a mesh with autodesk's ReCap.

The field in question is to the left of the covered area with the red roof. You can see the two small team benches to the far left. This field is away from other fields and would not affect them.

Not a big deal, didn't know if there was some formula after providing the size of the field to give it a 6-8 inch crown.
Another option we have thought of is slightly elevate the north end and gradually slope it to the south towards the drainage ditch that is already there.
We put two fields at south west part and they slope slightly to the drainage ditch to their north and they can handle quite a bit of rain.

Use sand at 50 tons an acre

I don't do civil work so I can't really tell but I assume the soil compacted in that area instead of being washed somewhere else.

You should fill or divert the water (maybe on the East side of the field with a culvert) in the low spot outside of the perimeter of the field to avoid any more problems in that area. Hopefully one of the civil guys will chime in.

With earthwork cut and fill you are pretty much paying for labor, equipment usage, tax, insurance(?), etc.

This is a must. There is no way to guestimate the amount of fill you might need even if you are only crowning the field for drainage.

500-550 cyds, truck measure.

That's calculating 3" of fill across the entire area, then building a 6" crown.

Ain't gonna be cheap.

Just meet a couple of dirt contractors out there and get their opinions on how much fill you need.

Crown your field at 1% and then run collector drains down each side of the field that drain into your ditch along the southern side.

Like another poster said, use sand to build your crown up.

You need to get a survey , you could do without with the 3" of fill across the entire area, also its possible you could be able to cut from the sides of the fields and push it up to the middle to make your crown.

But all of that is tough to figure out without knowing the existing grades.

For what it's worth, I design athletic fields for a living
