I'm in the process of getting a 2104 Frontier. It has the Lowrance Mark-4 CHIRP already installed on it. I would like something with a bigger screen and a few more options. Would like to stay around the $500 dollar range. The Lowrance Elite 5Ti looks interesting.

The Ti series is a good choice but go with the 7" it's much worth the upgrade. A 5" screen is small. We run a 7" Ti bowfishing. Very similar to my hds. Processor is fast and runs my map card just fine.
I have my 7" hds flush mounted on my 2104. Looks good.

Nice boat by the way. Let me know if you have any questions about it

ETA: Stick with the Ti units. The hook units suck. Very very basic and more focused on sonar

@SeaPickle could you email a picture of the flush mount on your boat? For some reason my computer offshore isn't letting me view the pictures...

Pretty sure SP is one of the guys on here who does that, he said it runs his card fine so yes.

You are about a week to late the HDS-7 touches were on sale for like 300. That was a steal with all the transducers included

300 sounds extremely low for a gen 3. That's like $600 off. If so I need to know about this deal too

Great advice like seapickle said I have a 2104 as well. My hds 7 is mounted on top of the console, I feel like the flush mount is too low but it's preference. Atleast a 7" screen on that boat for sure with one of the maps cards we make and you will be set. Any questions about the boat or gps shoot me an email at whodat51486@gmail.com

You won't regret buying that frontier. I love mine and it fishes and rides great!

Alright, you piqued my curiosity. I researched the hell out of these units and I just bought(Good Friday) the hook 9. You say they're basic, but what more should it do? I can return the damn thing if there's a better option.

I like it and all. Nothing to compare it to. Get sat maps. Speaking of which, I need.

The Ti and hds are steps up in just about every aspect. Screen resolution, touch screen, faster processor, mapping capabilities, wireless connectivity, Bluetooth control of power pole and Xi5 trolling motor, nema 2k capabilities for networking, engine data, music and anything else transmitted over nema 2k.
It seems the hook units are more focused on sonar capabilities. If that's all you need then it's fine for you.
My hds gen 3 I pinch the screen to zoom in out like the iPhone. I run my music through it via a sonic hub from a usb or BT from my phone. I have the Xi5 and power pole I can control. It runs my satellite maps flawless with no lag
