anyone know where i can buy some frozen ballyhoo? i am in lafayette and usually get em at academy, but they are out. I will be driving to new orleans saturday so i can pick up some anywhere along the hwy 90 corridor. i just need about 6-7 dozen and i dont want to have to pay shipping for just that few.

thanks.

West Marine usually carries them and can get any amount you need in the store with a few days notice. I think that the S. Louisiana truck comes on Tuesdays, so you should have them for next Tuesday if they do not have them in stock.

I buy all my ballyhoo and squid from Bait Masters. They are awesomely rigged (if you so choose) and they always show up frozen and ready to go in your freezer. I keep a freezer at my camp full of them.

thanks, i was trying to get around the 50 buck shipping fee from baitmasters.

did not know about west marine though. i fished with realscreamers out of grand isle a few years ago and caught a bunch of specks.

someone also told me to try gulfway marine in kaplan.

Depending on where you are running from - TYD's in Leeville used to carry them, haven't used any lately, belly strips are easy to come by.
