I know there is a lot of interest on the HPA on this board. Of the 6 Louisiana members of Congress, only 3 have Cosponsored the legislation.

Cosponsors
Abraham
Higgins
Scalise

Have NOT Cosponsored
Graves
Johnson
Richmond

LINK

Both of our Senators have cosponsored

Just thought the board would like this information

No chance to get Richmond on board.

Really surprised that Graves hasn't gotten on board.

Richmond

He is a lost cause. I got a reply from him when I emailed about supporting the HPA with a bunch of BS about how he is Pro-Second Amendment, but doesn't support the HPA. So in other words he is Anti-Second Amendment

Graves needs to get on this though.

The Senate is where an HPA would get held up, they're not gonna get two thirds any time soon.

Here are the 8 I would focus on to get cloture in the Senate:

Heidi Heitkamp
Martin Heinrich
Jon Tester
Angus King
Bill Nelson
Michael Bennett
Joe Donnelly
Tom Udall

ETA: The Senate is not going to act on the HPA without it getting sent over from the House first (IMHO)

I'm sure they will get to it after the health care thing that's trying to get worked out

If the healthcare bill is any indication of how the HPA will go, then don't expect much.

HPA won't pass. Not a popular opinion but it is what I see happening. Too "scary" for politicians and no one is going to convince them otherwise. You have to remember that the vast majority of these idiots have never fired a gun much less thought about legal ownership of a silencer.

They are stuck in the "tool of an assassin" mindset.

No one in government cares about HPA. The industry is too small. There just isn't enough dollars in it to make sense.

Silencer Co and the ASA royally screwed the market and are doing nothing to help re-educate customers.

This guy gets it. Law of unintended consequences. Silencerco had to lay off a large portion of its staff as a result of industry downturn caused by a bill they basically wrote.

I was thinking the same.

Not true. The NRA is fully behind HPA, the cosponsor list is key. If they can get 200 cosponsors it will generally get a floor vote in the House.

If it hasn't passed by Jan 2019, I agree it will never be passed.
