Heading to Bear Creek soon and need some advice...

I haven't been there since I was a little kid. Going with a buddy of mine this sunday and monday. I checked out their website and I could barely find shite.
Obviously, I'd like to camp out in the non-family area. Where, exactly would be the best place to camp out and about how much should it cost? Probably looking to rent a couple of kayaks as well.
Any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated. Went to the Buffalo River up in TN back in June and enjoyed it. Bear Creek is less than an hour away so that's why I'm going there.

Have you looked at Little River Canyon in Fort Payne?
quote:
Little River Canyon National Preserve......The river flowing through the Backcountry section is much tamer than the river below the falls. Rapids up to a Class 3 can be navigated by beginning and intermediate kayakers and canoeists. Below the falls, however, lies water for only the most experienced kayaker, with nearly continuous Class 4, 5 and 6 rapids for the first three miles. In fact, going over Little River Falls is the preferred way to enter the water! The US Olympic Kayaking Team has trained on this section in the past.

I went 10-15 years ago. Didn't camp day trip. You have to portage around a small spillway/dam at one point during the trip down the creek. Not much in that neck of woods and it was a dry county when I went. Not sure if dry now.
