Have You Ever Personally Experienced a Hang Fire?
What do you imagine would happen in the event of a hang fire in a revolver that was being rapid fired?

Never had one.

If the round had a "light strike" it didn't ever go off. I've had quite a few of those.

Worst one ever was a Tomahawk missile on the Aegis class cruiser I was on. 30 seconds of pure fire and hell. Scary feeling!

A delayed detonation of a round after the firing pin strikes the primer.

So I'm really interested to know what would happen to a revolver once the cylinder has advanced during a hang fire.

Never considered this possibility. Now I've got something new to worry about if my Colt Walker .44 doesn't fire when the cap does... Had hangfires on my smokepole. It's kind of like holdin a Siamese cat by the tail. You gotta let go sooner or later and then wait to see what it's gonna do.

I did at the range, with a wheel gun. Practicing for qualifications and their ammo was some of the worst I ever shot. Dirty fouling too.

I've only had hang fires win my old muzzleloader. I was nerve racking to say the least.
I was glad hen the crack barrels were allowed.

A hang fire with a revolver could be deadly if you pull the trigger again and it rotates and fires.

Had one with a muzzle loader if that counts. My guess is that it was either a bad primer or the moisture in the air got to it

It would be very bad and possibly deadly if the cylinder that hang fires is lined up with some part of the frame.

I had light strikes in a Sig P220. It was the Hogue aftermarket grips interfering with the trigger mainspring. Other than that, I've never even had light strikes.

Also, I had an M-60 that was indifferent to the trigger position, once ammunition consumption had begun.

Tomahawks use a rocket to get out of the vertical launchers. The rocket went off but the missile did not leave. I was in combat watching on the monitor. The wall of flame was 30 or 40 feet high and 20 feet wide. The deluge system ran for 45 minutes before things cooled off enough to shut off.
Training kicks in in the heat of the moment. I was shaking after though for sure.

I've never heard of it happening though. At least not with those results.
