North MS/west TN you only see grey squirrels. Cross the MS river and all you see is fox squirrels.

Bachmans range usually are in around the Florida Parishes then North and Northeast from there.

Never seen Bachmans anywhere in the FL parishes, very few foxes in general.

Well thats unfortunate because they are still there, but in very slim numbers. Katrina was the last time I saw Bachmans in good numbers but that bitch put a pretty good damper on the last ones we had in our yard as well as our neighborhood. I did see one just the other day in Folsom running down a horse fence. Northern Tangipahoa Parish, Washington, and St. Tammany all still have the Bachmans if you can find some larger pine/hardwood mix.
I have one mounted and another in the freezer from years ago. The one in the freezer is black/ white face and paws (extremely rare).

Parvo will hit them pretty hard. We had a parvo kill in my area about 6 yrs ago and the population hasn't rebounded yet.
