Have a 50 Merc...need boat suggestions...

So I have a 50 merc currently on a 16' starcraft. The transom's pretty shot and I wasn't able to get it repaired like I thought. After thinking about it I'd like something a little bit wider so long as the added weight doesn't compromise the performance of the motor.
The motor runs great but I just need a new hull.
Any suggestions on a brand? Allweld aluminum preferably. Also, What's the biggest I could go? PLan on salt & freshwater fishing.
Thanks

I have a 50 yammy on a fairly heavy 17' that is 56" wide I think. With only me and gear I get 35 out of it.

I have a 48 johnson on a 16' all welded Cajun Special, 48" bottom. it's fiberglass decking and all, so that adds a good bit of weight, and with 1 person, full tanks and no gear it'll get right under 35. With the right prop it can probably get 35 with 2 people and gear and gas.
ETA I'd probably look for a wider 16' boat, and look for something used. No rivets. Got our boat, no motor, used for $1000, everything structurally sound but it was set up wrong and the carpet and paint and whatnot was in terrible shape. Recarpeted it, stripped the paint, replaced the wooden compartment lids, etc, probably have 2K total in the boat and I'd say it was a pretty damn good deal. Solid boat for sure.
