Earlier this week I got a phone call from the dermatologist saying that one of the moles I had cut out last week had some abnormal cells. Everything is fine, just have to increase the frequency of getting screened, but phone call was definitely sobering, especially considering my dad had melanoma 5 years ago.

I'm looking for the OB's opinion on what are some good hats that provide a little more cover on the nose, ears, and neck than your standard baseball cap that I wear everyday for cutting grass, fishing, basically your standard outdoor activities.

Recently have been to Cabela's, Academy, and various places in Orange Beach looking for hats and can't find what I'm looking for but maybe I'm overthinking this.

YoU are overthinking it. Broad brimmed hats look dorky. Embrace the dork. I have had stuff cut off my face and shoulders as well. I have a Tilley Hat. It floats.

This. I looked for a long time for a broad brimmed hat that didn't look dorky. No such luck. I still wear one though.

People on this board will make fun of you for wearing it, but buy a face buff. They're great for sun protection.

Wow they are proud of those hats.

I have a couple of under armour floppy hats I use. I have had multiple skin cancers removed from my face...may look at the Tilley for the next hat.

I personally do face buff bc I don't like putting sunscreen on or having to reapply.

I've got this one..

It has a "dry fit" material feel and the top is ventilated. Very light and comfy.

Many people do not understand that the harmful rays reflect off of water. A hat only protects you from one direction.

Counter the dorkiness of the brim hat with the douchiness of a face buff.

Assume you're referring to the Tilley's and yes they "appear" to be expensive. I've had mine for 10+ years and it lasts. If it wears out, I'll get a new one at no cost.....lifetime warranties are the shite.

Oh yeah, Tilleys
