does anyone have experience with them?

interested in a 22-24 ft bayboat and was wondering how they handle choppy water?

In Bayou Vista near the Wal-Mart? I pass by there every time I go to the in-law's camp and they have some bad arse looking boats at that place.

I've heard good things about hanko's, but their pretty pricey and theres a long waiting list to get one. I'm not a big fan of the dual console either, not sure if I ever saw a center console, but I would think they have, or would make you one.

I think they are too much $$$

Edit: I have spent a lot of time on their work boats, like probably 6 months of my life. They are good boats, but they do ride rough across chop.

We have a 20 ft. With fantail. It is 20 years old now. Built like a tank. It is pretty rough riding though but will get you there. Friend has a 22ft that rides much better. We repowered three years ago and it's like we have a new boat.

Use to have a 21 foot hanko. Probably my facorite boat I ever owned. It was decent in chop because it would skip across like a bass boat, but if it gets rough, it's nit going to handle it like a fiberglass would.

i was looking at a 22-24 ft

but my current boat is a 23 ft ranger bay boat

it seems from your replies that i would be disappointed in rough water

They are loud and you are going to feel the chop. That said, if you are going to be running a bunch during winter months, you can't beat the dual console with the cover. Very well built boats that will last forever. Scully's is another similar to Hanko's you might want to look at also.

without a doubt, get the walk thru windshield over the center console. You will be glad you did.

We love our hanko for everything except rough water. Adding trim tabs has helped. I think a 23 ft ranger will outperform a hanko in rough water.
