Is it really that much better/more fun/accurate to shoot than the DA/SA V3 version? I "may" be on the market and, thus, doing my research.

I want to use the LEM for carry but hesitant because of the lack of a manual safety

The hammer is your manual safety...hold your thumb on it and the pistol will not fire.

It takes practice to become a good shot with the unique trigger pull, for most people.

I recently bought a brand new P30L light LEM (is that V1?) for about $550 because it was a 40 cal. I absolutely love it. Its a long but very light trigger pull to the very back. When you rack the slide, the hammer goes back down, the mainspring is compressed, and you have a very long but very light trigger pull where you don't really get any resistance until the very end. My only complaint would be that the tip of your finger will rub on that European mag release at the end but that's not a big deal. Try to go dry fire one. Its awesome. Would be great carry pistol because that long pull is really smooth on a quick shot. Don't mind the lack of safety at all. Great fun to shoot at the range too.

There is a large segment of the population who carries handguns without manual safeties, myself included. Get a quality holster that covers the trigger guard and practice practice practice.

The manual safety is just not needed on anything but SA only. I also wonder how many folks fool around and put their finger on the trigger in a non-shooting posture just because that "safety" gives them a reason to break one of the three cardinal rules.

I do it all the time. I didn't vote on that rule.
