Everytime I go to a park around here, I see several people in those nylon hammocks hanging from trees. I ain't gonna lie, it looks chill as hell so I'm thinking about getting one.
I see them being sold everywhere. Walmart, Academy, REI, etc and many different brands. Is ENO the best? Or is that just the most familiar and there are other brands just as good for less than $60?

Anyone have one? How do you like it?

ENO's are the shite. I have a double nest with the mosquito net and rain fly. I camp during squirrel season with it and during deer season until it gets colder

I have a single tree in my backyard - cut all the others down after Katrina. A couple years ago a few sprouts started popping up in a semicircle around 8-10 feet from that tree. I put some bricks around them and started growing them out with the idea of having a place to put a couple hammocks in the future. Now they are all between 5-10 feet high. I'm only 2-3 years away from hammock heaven now.

My wife has a Grand Trunk and loves it. I think they are cheaper.

My son got 1 for Christmas last year. I'm pretty sure it's an ENO. We have a very primitive deer camp in the woods and last year we put it up between 2 trees. It's pretty damn nice to lay in for a little while between the morning and afternoon hunts.

I thought about getting one for camping. But, the past couple of years, I've started to see a lot of people switching back to tents, once the hype wore off. I don't know which to believe, but I'd read some unbiased reviews by people who have used them a season or two. A lot of people say they're uncomfortable. I don't see how they can be worse than sleeping on the lumpy, hard ground, but who knows.

ENO. I have one I sleep in on wheeling trips. Each of the 3 kids have one in their room, and sleep in it often.

I think I'm safe from that.

I've just been noticing them everywhere nowadays so figured they're pretty popular. Didn't know there was a hammock forum... Guess I better do my research.

Don't plan on sleeping in one for camping but would be nice to chill in it at the lake, Park, backyard etc when the weather is nice.

These have great reviews on Amazon and are half the price of ENOs.

Disclaimer: I've never tried either.

I have one that I love, but it was hand woven in Honduras. Darn comfortable too.......mine fits just right between the support braces in my shop building, right in front of the A/C vent.

Oh, in that case, hammocks are great. I have one in my backyard where I sometimes enjoy a beer and a book.

I've got an ENO, SMR, and a Dream Hammock. The Dream Hammock is by far my favorite, and what I've used for the past 6 years on my extended backpack hunts in Colorado. I previously used a tent and sleeping pad, but once you get used to a hammock, they are much more comfortable. Just hanging out reading a book, drinking a beer, etc... it's not as important to hang it properly and you don't need an expensive one. But for sleeping overnight in you want to make sure you get the hang right. As mentioned above, hammock forums is a good resource. The hammock calculator will help a lot too. LINK /

Anyone else think that this was going to take them to the soccer board?

I have a piece of hunting property an hour away. Each year I hang mine ( don't know what brand) and catch the best naps between morning and evening hunt after I eat my sack lunch

Wife bought a wise owl name brand on Amazon for $20 seems decent enough and has a 400 lb rating. Reviews compared it to the ENO

Check out Bear Butt hammocks on Amazon. I bought a double and it has held up great even with the kids climbing in it.
