The owners of a soon-to-open gun club in Georgia are pushing buttons with their recent announcement that the gun range will be adjoined with a lounge that serves alcohol. The $3.5 million gun range, to be located in Powder Spring, will be named The Governor's Club and is owned by Kristina Brown and her husband, who also own Lakeside Guns Shop in Acworth.

This sounds like a place I'd like to be a member of!

I feel completely safe drinking a few beers and shooting with my buddies. I don't know how safe I'd feel with a bunch of random idiots drinking and shooting around me though.

Granted, my friends and I are still idiots to an extent, but we aren't random idiots.

too many idiots. Most I know can drink a few beers and have a good time. Then there is the one guy that no matter if he drinks two beers or 20 beers and it is the same. That guy would be scary.

Same here. Nothing better than riding around the hunting club with an ice chest full of beer and loaded guns, shooting shite. Idk how I feel about the guy who's drinking his sorrows away with whiskey and loaded firearms are within arms reach..

this is not too far from me, and it was on the news last night. I believe they said no shooter is allowed to drink prior to shooting or something like that. They showed construction shots of the range and it looks bad azz

I dont see how you could regulate this and be safe 100% of the time. Stupid is going to stupid no matter what.

you've already heard in this thread that people feel quite safe drinking & shooting. Meaning they do it anyway.

So did the range cost $3.5 million to build, or is that the cost of the yearly insurance premium?

This^^.

Use your head dudes... They wouldn't join an establishment for the pure fun of seeing how much liability they could be putting themselves at risk to.

I'm sure they'll have many regulations for the range in relation to the alcohol they serve. I think a breathalyzer machine at the front door would be a great idea, unless they've already thought of that.
