Grand Isle trip this weekend fishing advice please.

People are doing well on the beaches. Live bait should be the ticket. There has been some problems with grass but I hear the grass is dying and the trout are moving in. At least that's what Joe Macaulso says

Yeah of course Live Bait was always the ticket if you could afford it and wanted to mess with the hassle. Think we will try artificials for a while and see how it goes. Any new good artificials I should check out?

Voodo Shrimp or H2O shrimp under the cork should do the trick if you want to use artifical. me and a buddy put 40 in the ice chest with the H20 shrimp off a lighted dock 2 weeks ago in GI

I've been in Grand Isle since Monday.

The seaweed is gone. The tide has been funny this week with high tide being around 7:30-8:00 in the morning all week making for a slack tide very early. But the tide is shifting as we approach the full moon and high tide should start falling closer to noon.

I have found plentiful trout in front of Elmer's island but they have been small. I found bigger trout near the rocks in front of the state park.

We haven't seen any difference in throwing Vudu or TKO shrimp.

If you haven't been in a while I would most definitely invest in some Mirrolure mirrodine suspending shallow water baits. It's an awesome beach bait.

For summer beach action my favorite is the pink back with the chartreuse belly. Works great for somewhat stained water which is usually the case for beach fishing. The other more natural colors work better in clear water. But I have caught more fish on grand isle beaches with the above color bait than any other bait by far.
