Grand isle surf fishing

They been doing any good? Any recommendations on where to try this weekend? I believe elmers is closed

elmers open but you gotta walk. parking lot at the end of the road and you can walk from there

50 yards to the water. but last weekend it was packed there. so we walked down a good ways to get away from crowd. cart or wagon is needed to haul all your stuff if going far

10 trout 2-3 lbs each. all on topwater at dawn. We fished the bridge and gigged flounder the night before pretty late so we didn't stay long sat. had plans that night back in nola. may again Fri/Sat

I am heading down next week. My baw who has a camp on island killed 'em in the surf Sat night. 2-3 lbers- fished the gulf side of rocks along beach, from his boat, Sat morning, just east of bridgeside and limited out in an hour and half...nice size as well

Killed them last weekend with that north wind. Water was the prettiest I've ever seen out there. All keepers, don't have any throwbacks except all the damn sheepshead I kept catching. Yesterday they had another gator on the beach, the SSE wind is a bitch.

What is people's problem with Sheepshead??
I know they're a complete pain to clean... but besides that they're great eating and fun to catch!

With Elmers being closed to vehicles I doubt we see anything very interesting this summer. Still holding out hope.
